Traditional employee benefit programs consume a significant portion of an employer's compensation budget as well as their human resource department's time. As costs continue to escalate, and the administration of benefits plans continues to increase in their complexity, we at Peterman can provide tools for managing these challenges effectively.

• Medical

• COBRA Administration

• Dental

• Flexible Spending Plans (Cafeteria)

• Vision

• Health Reimbursement Arrangement

• Life

• Personalized Benefit Statements

• Disability

While salary, incentive pay and fringe benefit costs have traditionally been managed as separate programs, there is now a movement toward a total compensation philosophy. In this new environment, an organization manages all elements of compensation as a whole, rather than as individual programs. Among the challenges of such a philosophy is the establishment of strategies to achieve desired objectives.

Our Approach

Your Peterman Benefits Team proposes to take an entirely fresh look at your current benefit programs.

We believe that alternatives can only be properly evaluated by first arriving at a clear understanding of your objectives and needs. Your own objectives will be central to all actuarial and underwriting, cost containment, communications, administration and tax/legal considerations, in the context of your objectives and budgetary constraints.

Your Peterman Benefits Team is comprised of professional staff representing all areas of the firm's employee benefits expertise. Our goal is to enhance your internal resources and staff capabilities and to assure that your benefits program will be effective in:

  • Meeting your financial objectives.
  • Managing employee growth related issues.
  • Providing meaningful information.
  • Delivering benefits efficiently.
  • Providing employee satisfaction and security.
  • Managing costs effectively.

Peterman's philosophy is to provide needed advice while assisting you in developing your own capability to perform additional functions over time.

It is our knowledge and experience that will enable us to respond to your requests and complete your projects in the most cost-effective manner possible; with the most efficient use of time and resources.

Individual Medical – If you think you can’t afford medical insurance…think again. We offer a wide range of medical polices – from basic to comprehensive – and with access to local doctors. We’ll find the plan that’s right for you. For a free quote, click on the icon below or contact us at info@petermancompany.com

Dental – Unlike medical disease, which can be both unpredictable and catastrophic, most dental ailments are preventable. Preventive care, including regular checkups and cleanings, is the key to maintaining your oral health. With regular visits to the dentist, problems can be diagnosed and treated early. That keeps the costs of dental care much lower than those of medical care. In fact, total spending for dental care is decreasing. In 1970, it made up 6.3 percent of total health care expenditures. But in 1991, dental care's share of health care spending was only 4.9 percent. As an independent agent, we can help you find reliable, affordable dental coverage from a reputable company. Short Term Medical Insurance is inexpensive, temporary health insurance that can be obtained for 30-185 days (varies by state). Short Term Medical is ideal for people who are between jobs, waiting for employer group coverage, experiencing an underwriting period for individual coverage, recent college graduates, or anyone else who is experiencing a gap in coverage. Vision Insurance* – Thorough eye exams are essential not only for detecting vision problems, but also as an important preventative measure for maintaining your overall health and wellness. The companies that we represent provide low-priced, high-quality eyecare coverage that puts people first, supports visual wellness and improves your quality of life. Long-term Care Insurance
The average cost for one year in a nursing home is $40,000, but can be close to $100,000 in some big cities. Round-the-clock care at home can be just as expensive. Medicare does not pay these bills beyond a short period of time after a hospital stay. Health insurance rarely pays any of the cost. Unless you have so little money that you will qualify for Medicaid, or so much money that you can pay the bills out of your own pocket, you should consider long-term care insurance. Term Life Insurance is an insurance policy that is in effect for a specific period of time. If the insured dies within that timeframe, the beneficiary of the policy receives the death payment. However, if the insured survives that period of time, the beneficiary receives nothing and the policy is closed. Term life also provides the ability to convert to a permanent kind of coverage at a later time.

Universal Life Insurance
The premiums of a universal life insurance policy are split in two ways. The premium you pay goes toward covering the cost of the insurance policy and the remaining balance is invested and earns interest on a tax deferred basis. With this type of life insurance you also receive a guaranteed minimum interest rate on the balance that is invested.

Long Term Disability Insurance - If you were disabled and unable to work as a result of an accident or illness, how would you support your family? Disability income insurance, which complements health insurance, can replace lost income. At age 40, the average worker faces only a 14 percent chance of dying before age 65 but a 21 percent chance of being disabled for 90 days or more.
